Queensland Fire & Rescue Service 'In partnership with the community,

create a safer Queensland by providing world-class, professional fire

and rescue services'.

QFRS work to strengthen community safety, prevention capability and

resilience by changing attitudes with shared responsibility between

individuals, the community and emergency services.

QFRS support to ensure safety, however, they also carry legislative

enforcement powers with certain officers authorised to issue on the

spot fines for breaches of building safety legislation.

The Deputy Commissioner will cover some of these key aspects and

how they relate to businesses within the Brisbane built environment.

Iain will discuss the business of the QFRS, services provided aimed at

reducing risk and the challenge of balancing advisory, educational and

response roles with that of the enforcement of legislation where required.
